The West Coast Blues ‘N’ Roots Fringe Festival

We are excited to announce that throughout the week 21st to 27th March the City of Fremantle will come alive with all things music to celebrate this year’s West Coast Blues ‘N’ Roots Festival. Fremantle is a haven for original live music and this year you can find yourself and plenty of live original music every night of the week.

Monday night kicks off the first “Breakthrough to Blues ‘N’ Roots” heat at this year’s fringe headquarters Xwray Café…

Amongst the many exciting shows that are happening throughout the week, some stand out events definitely deserve a mention.

Breakthrough to Blues ‘N’ Roots 2010 is coming at you!!  Sunset Events will offer one lucky band the opportunity to perform on stage at the West Coast Blues ’n’ Roots 2010, to be held on Sunday 28th March at Fremantle Park. Breakthrough heat and final supporters will also be in the running to win a double pass to the West Coast Blues ’n’ Roots Festival! So get down to any of the heats or the final and cheer on the local crew for your chance to win the West Coast Blues ’n’ Roots Festival experience!
 

All heats are $5 entry
Heat 1: Monday 22nd March – Xwray (acoustic heat)
Heat 2: Tuesday 23rd March – The Swan Lounge
Heat 3: Wednesday 24th March – Mojos Bar
Grand Final: Thurs 25th March – Clancy’s Fish Pub

The West Coast Blues ‘N’ Roots Official Opening Party will explode with a mix of blues, rock, rockabilly, roots, country and lounge! To catch this mix of eclectic sounds head down to The Fremantle Arts Centre on Saturday 27th March.

Doors: 6pm
Entry: Free to West Coast Blues ‘N’ Roots ticket holders, $10 on the door for non ticket holders.

To completely saturate yourself every night of the week in all things Blues ‘N’ Roots, we have appointed Xwray Café as the HQ for the Fringe Festival, a quaint location perfect for kicking back and enjoying music every night of the week. If you like where this is heading Saturday 27th will bring a very special “unplugged” night of music.

"Stripped Bare" in an intimate night of live music and performance stripped back to its bare essence, 100% unplugged and acoustic. The Cafe will be transformed into venue/ theatre for an evening which promises to expose some of WA's finest in a setting not often explored in live performance.

Doors:  7pm, music starts at 8pm

Last but certainly not least, to greet you with a great big Blues ‘N’ Roots smile, local artists will be playing live at Pioneer Park from 10 till 3pm on Sunday 28th March to get you in the festival spirit as you head from the train station into your final destination The West Coast Blues and Roots 2010 Festival….
