WAGONS

Wagons are a stompin’, dark’n’twisted, borderline countrified, rockin’ outfit embodying the hearts of the most poetic yet crazed lovers and murderers. They draw upon an uncommon range of influences given the current musical climate, including Vegas era Elvis, Roy Orbison, Adam Green, Johnny Cash, Clockwork Orange synthesisers, 70s trumpets, The Sunbury Music Festival and Cormac MacCarthy. Their live show is a performance like no other, treading a line between a Vegas 70s showroom extravaganza and a bunch of undertakers letting loose at a rock festival headlined by Canned Heat. Wagons are a band of characters unmatched in contemporary Australian music. They shine as a collective and Henry Wagons’ songs are deceptively simple yet constructed according to sturdy designs and made of real flesh and blood and spirit. Having spent the last few years supporting and touring with the likes of Justin Townes Earle, The Violent Femmes, Bill Callahan, Will Oldham, and Jolie Holland it is safe to say that a Wagons show is like none you’ll see in this or any surrounding county.
