THE JOE KINGS

The Joe Kings are Jack Stirling and Phill Leggett, two energetic young lads with a thirst for blues and rock, who first met in May 2008 at a music store in Perth where Jack was working at the time. The boys immediately recognised a shared interest in similar blues, soul and rock musicians and singers of the past and present, such as Cream, Jeff Beck, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Sam Cooke, Rory Gallagher and Free. Jack, as an acoustic blues solo artist prior to meeting Phil, assumed the rhythm aspects of the duo playing rhythm guitar, harmonica, mandolin, piano and bass drum, to accompany his powerful, soulful lead vocals and Phill’s virtuoso vigorous lead guitar. Not only are they seasoned performers but they also write sophisticated and driving original music that is reflected by their debut recording – Calls in the Night.
