LISA MITCHELL

Lisa moved to Australia at age 3, grew up in New South Wales, and is now based in Melbourne. Her first forays into performance were gigs in cafes and cover bands, but she soon turned to original music, releasing the One to the Other EP in 2007. The EP hit #1 on the iTunes 'Top Albums' chart and debuted in the ARIA Singles Chart at #27. Building on her surprise success, she began writing her debut album with heroes and Australian music icons Ben Lee, Kevin Mitchell and Clare Bowditch. She also worked in London with Ant Whiting, Ed Harcourt and Sacha Skarbek. Her second EP, last year’s Welcome to the Afternoon, was released in May 2008, and paved the way for her debut album Wonder. It debuted nationally on the Australian Charts at number 3 and has since gone Gold and attracted 3 ARIA nominations.
