CBC JAZZ ORCHESTRA WITH LEE SAPPHO

Tattooed Amazonian blues singer/song-writer Lee Sappho was a ‘late starter’ to the blues at the age of 32. Already a single mum of two, this Australian born musician has proven that with determination and hard work dreams can and do come true. Within two short years her first recording ‘Big Bad Momma’ had sold out and numerous performances put her name out as a force to be reckoned with on both the local and national blues scene. The CBC Jazz Orchestra, Fremantle is one of Western Australia’s most exciting school bands. With an average age of sixteen, the orchestra has been invited to perform for many and varied events around Perth, including the Perth Jazz Society, Rotary events and Jazz Fremantle. The band has received many honourable mentions and 1st place in the Entertainment Band Section in the Catholic Schools Performing Arts Festival in 2006 and won the Ensemble category in the 2004 WA Schools Jazz Festival.
