ANGUS AND JULIA STONE

After just three years of working together, Angus and Julia Stone have become one of the best known, and best loved acts in the country. They formed in 2006, and by August they had signed a two-EP deal with EMI in Australia and Independiente Records in the UK, where they were invited into Chris Potter's studio (The Verve/Richard Ashcroft) to record. At that time Fran Healy from UK band Travis had also heard their debut EP, resulting in a relationship which would spawn the duo's second EP, Heart Full of Wine and their debut album A Book Like This. 2007 saw them tour with the Big Day Out festival and land a song in the top half of the Triple J Hottest 100, and conduct their first, sold-out headlining tour after just one year together. That year A Book Like This Went platinum, and in 2009 it was released in the USA. This year Angus released his solo album Smoking Gun, and the duo are currently writing and recording their hotly-anticipated second album, due in early 2010.
